Plugs short out

I have an 8 year old elddis and all the power plugs  shorting out on an intermittent basis.  Some times when I plug something in (nothing big) and some times out of the blue.  That fuse switch in the wardrobe dose not flick down, but if I do it manually
and then flick back up they all come back on again.  whats all that about ?
