25m Mains cable extension?

Having just returned from our first visit to a CL, we could have done with a longer mains cable to the hook up point as this governed our pitch positioning. What is the maximum length, would it be worth joining 2 x 25m cables together or would this render
a 6 amp supply useless? Any advice or suggestions?
