SMax as Towcar

I currently use a 2.2 ltr (175PS) diesel SMax as a tow car for a Swift Challenger 540 at about an 83% match. I am considering changing to a 2.0 ltr 163PS manual gearbox (91% match).
I am happy with the weight ratio change but wondered if anyone has experience with this model and can offer an opinion of its suitability?
