What are you getting out of your tyres

We have always got about 40 thousand miles out of the tyres on our tow car. The size of the tyres are 265/70/R16 and they are on a Mitsubishi shogun towing 1900kg. A tyre fitter once told me that it depends on the type of driving you do i.e lots of motorway
or lots of town driving that dependson on what miles you get out of the tyres. So I don't know if it's good or bad,  what are you getting with your tow car.
