13 pin extension?
Our van (purchased at the end of last summer) has 13 pin electrics.
Our car, which we bought when we thought thas we would no lonegr be caravanning, has a towbar and 7 pin electrics, fitted to accomodate a small trailer that we use to take stuff to the tip, etc.
When we bought the caravan the seller chucked in a 12N & 12S to 13 pin adaptor. We bought the van home using the 7N plug (obviously) but have not yet had a chance to see how the Alko ATC works, not having a socket for it.
We change the car next month for a Tiguan, and are having a detatchable bar fitted (with 13 electrics, of course)
I have reservations about the length of the existing 13 pin cable fitted to the van, it seems a tad short to me. - no problem using it with the 12N & 12S extension, but the Tiguan socket will be much further back than the existing flange mounted 12N (and we won't have the benefit of the existing extension cable to boost the length)
What I'm after is a ready made 13pin to 13 pin extension - prefferably one with 'curly' cable. Half a metre should comfortably do it.
I've been searching, and a 13 pin to 13 pin extension seems very hard to obtain. There were a couple - but only had 8 core cable used.
We need something with 13 core cable to provide a straight through connection for all the various functions.
I don't particularly want to mess about with the caravan cable as it's still under warranty. a simple 13pin extension would solve the problem and keep everyone happy.
Any ideas?
