Bailey Olympus Series One - water heater
I *think* I've blown the Ultrastore element in our 2011 Series One Olympus.
We've never used the caravan on 240 volts before, but after being offered a hook-up last week, I forgot that the 240v water heating switch was 'on', while the bolier was empty.
I know that is supposed to be a cut-off device that rests itself in cases like this, but it hasn't happened.
Follwing some internet advice, I even slackened off the heater element - which was supposed to encourage the thermal cut out to reset. It didn't.
What I'd like to know from any Olympus owners is whether the black 240 volt isolation switch has any sort of indicator light on it?
I can't be 100% certain, but there appears to be a very tiny LED in the upper portion of the faceplate (where the '240v Water Heater' label is)
If it is an indicator LED it's not working - whether this is bacuse the heater element has gone (there is no shorting to earth, etc) or simply because it's not getting any power to pass on to the boiler, i'm unsure.
OTOH - perhaps there is no indicator light at all
Does anyone have this van (or similar that uses the same isoltion switch plate)?
If so, does your illuminate to indicate when 240 volts is in operation?
Ta.
