Overnight stay from Swindon to Lizzard

Hi,

Only had a 17ft tourer for a year and in July we are off to Lizzard Cornwall from Swindon, our longest trip after my confidence has built up.

We do not want to do it in one trip as leaving on a Weds after school shuts. I think it will take 6 to 7 hours to get there so we want to stop half way there. Thinking about Plymouth as a stop and a service station. I have not heard good things about this
though. Any recommendatiosn would be greatly appreciated.
