cleaning a double skinned shower roof vent.

i have a senator vermont series 6 and want to separate the 2 pieces of the roof vent in the shower to clean.they are held together by screws with odd looking heads,is there a special tool for this job ?? i have taken the complete roof light off no problem.help
please.
