Which Sat Nav?

Time has come at last for me to stop struggling with my 2004 road atlas (99p) and move rapidly to the cutting edge of technology with the purchase of a Sat Nav (a wee bit more than 99p).

I'd really welcome some help with this: the selection is baffling and the prices range from reasonable to very expensive, rising to astronomical when you look at those designed for use with motorhomes or caravans.

What I think I want is a simple, straightforward machine to get me reliably from A to B without being bombarded with unwanted information relating to the whereabouts of the nearest supermarket, restaurant, zoo or even campsites.

All advice, warnings, tips and anecdotes will be gratefully received.   Thank you.
