Towing with a Skoda Octavia

Looking to buy an Octavia, probably 5-6 yrs old. Probably 1.9 - 2.0L diesel. I know these get good towing write ups, but does anyone tow with a 1.6 diesel, and are they powerful enough to pull a lightweight caravan.
