Peugeot Boxer engine not stopping

Hi,

I have a 1998 autosleeper based on a Peugeot Boxer with a 2.5 litre turbo diesel engine which has done about 60K miles. Very occasionally the engine continues to run when the ignition is switched off and the only way to stop the engine running is to put it in gear and stall it. Has anyone else had this problem? As I say it is very occasional - we can go away for a week and it does not happen at all so think it has cured itself but then it happens again. It does not seem to coincide with the engine being hot or cold but just random.

Any thoughts?
