Motorway stopovers

Hi all- we are new to caravanning and have been told it is possible to break long journeys overnight in motorway service stations. I have been searching the net but dont seem to be able to find out where such places are and how to book them. This first long
trip we are going to give the Highlands a try

please can anyone help?
