Hi all

Just bought my first van and will be towing with a 2013 Lexus RX450H Premier with air suspension - kerb weight around 2.2 tonnes. I've had the towbar fitted by Lexus - £860 (!) so it's hopefully as good as it can be. I'm towing a van with a laden weight of 1595kg (Swift Challenger 570) but the Lexus has a nose weight of only 80kg. Do you think this will be ok or will I struggle with the nose weight? As it's a petrol electric hybrid it's got more torque then you can shake a stick at (tries its best to kill me on greasy roads - have to drive like Lewis Hamilton to stay alive) so I don't think the weight will be an issue; it's also 4wd but it's no Land Rover!

I'm changing the car in March next year and will go for either a Range Rover Sport or the new Mercedes GLE (rebadged ML) - both 150kg nose weight so the potential problem will go away then, but I just wondered if anyone else has the Lexus and their opinions on towing with it.

As usual the caravan dealer said it would be a piece of cake towing the van with my car...
