Bin in habitation door

The fixed bin attached to the habitation door on our Chausson 718 Welcome doesn't seem very practical.  Does anybody know if there should be some sort of plastic inner bin that pulls out or is just for use with plastic bags?  Thanks

I find that all of those sort of bins less than useless.  I'd be emptying it every half hour so we keep a swingtop bin either in the bathroom compartment if no awning being used or, outside in the awning.  I only need to empty it once prior to departure.

We have a built in bin on our hab door too. We have never used it as a bin as it is very unpractical so we just now use it to store plastic carrier bags that we then use as bins as and when required.

We have a bin on the inside of the door. It is designed to take an inner plastic bag. The supermarket bags fit well but now we are charged for them use purpose bought ones.

We use ours for recycling packaging and tend to empty it any time one of us goes across to the block. As Jill says as a proper bin they are worse than useless.

I find the one in the Hartnal door of our Bessscarr which is a frame for a bag is excellent. Far from useless so I cannot imagine what is fitted to other vans. Regards Roy

You can buy those from leisure shops. I have fitted one and agree they are excellent for reusing plasitic bags. These days with recycling I just use it for non recylables and collect the stuff which requires recyling in an old shopping bag.
