Swan neck tow bar & electrics question

Hi all
Just changed my car to a 2012 Honda CRV - latest shape (loving it)! - has a tow bar fitted but only 7 pin electrics.
The tow bar is a fixed swan neck one - with the 7 pin only electrics I suspect the previous owner towed a trailer - another sign is that the tow ball still has the paint on it.
My two questions are......
Are all swan neck tow bars alko compatible and will a mobile tow bar fitter attend to update the electrics only?
