LED TVs

I have often mentioned that a digi box may produce a better picture than a Freeview LCD or LED set. Whilst experimenting at home when my Maxview 4 output amp died, I used a 2 output Philex amp with a short circuit indicator. All the LCD/LED TVs showed short
circuit, the digiboxes didn't. I checked all the wall sockets and found that the centre core is connected directly from the amplifier to the centre pin and thus straight to the TV. I removed the wire link on the wall socket circuit board and replaced it with
a 100pf capacitor, this removed the short and immediately improved the picture ( no pixelating) It is possible the Avtex TV may well work better on their own aerial/amplifier and the Status amplifiers may be are attenuated by this problem in newer TVs.
