After an 18 month gap from caravanning we are back, club membership restated and insurance taken out - we have inherited my Grandmas Fleetwood Garland 1993.  It has been stood in a field for about 7 years I think so not in the best condition - also had mice
3 years ago!

Chucked out all the rubbish inside 2 years ago; in the process of booking for inside and outside to be steam cleaned.  Today we towed it home - only about 30 miles but it seemed ok, obviously air was needed in the tyres though!

I am wondering about a service - I know the caravan really doesn't have any value but I'd like to know that the gas is safe to use and that the electricity works too - also just a quick yeah it wont fall apart when you hit a large bump in the road would
be useful!

Additionally about 8 years ago the van developed an internal water leak - my grandmothers solution was to switch off the water and never use it again in addition to ripping out the fitted toilet!  We would really like to have a van with running water as
our last one didn't either but I have no idea whether this would be cost effective. or not.

I have had a look online and the cost of servicing in South Gloucestershire seems to vary between £100 and £300 which I think for peace of mind is probably worth it but as cheap as possible BUT I guess the repair would cost a lot more than the van is actually
worth.

Would appreciate anyones feedback.

Thanks
