Spare tyre

As most cars these days either have no spare at all or just a space saver, I am considering buying a good part worn tyre to carry in the caravan, a full wheel would add too much weight.  That way should I get a puncture on the car while towing I could call my breakdown service and tell them I just need a mobile tyre fitter sending. What do you think ?
