We booked a cl in the area we wanted and chose one that said "Adults Only". We turned up last Tuesday and pulled onto the field. It was a picture, distant hills, fishing pond, water lilies, bull rushes, flat field and close mown grass. Everything we wanted.

There was only one other van on site that of an elderly couple like ourselves. Then the fun started. Early evening a car pulled up with two very young children, obviously come to see their grandparents. Shortly after another car pulled on and two more young boys got out. This was now very obviously children and grandchildren who lived in the vicinity coming to visit their parents. The grandmother came across and said she hoped they wouldn't bother us too much. We told her we had booked the site because it stated in the handbook it was "Adults only". She said she wasn't aware of that even though it was clearly stated. She said that only two of the children would be staying overnight and when bedtime came the other two went home.

Next day things got worse there were four adults and seven children, Thursday there were two children and Friday four children. Whether grandmother new it was adults or not nothing was going to change her plans.

What had first seemed like an idyllic scene turned into a kindergarten. Yesterday was quiet at last but then it did rain.

The site owners had gone away for a few days and the only person at home was their young teenage son. There was no point in complaining to him.

So just a bit of advice. If you want "Adult Only" make sure you confirm it when you book.

Rant over.
