Complete Newbie

Hi All

I'm a complete caravan novice and have just bought a 1981 Abi Ace Marauder. I have the winter to get it ready for it's first outing. The main problems are the handbrake doesn't work, and it has a leaky rooflight. Other than that I just need general advice
on basic things like how the water systems work atc and what I am likely to need to buy.
