You might find some useful information about Service Stations in this thread
    here
in Caravan and Motorhome Chat. For fuel stations I find Google earth quite useful in judging whether I could get my motorhome (or a caravan) in and out safely.

We have stopped here http://cartgatelodgecafe.co.uk/the-cartgate-lodge-cafe-yeovil-picnic-area/ before with the caravan.  Google map it is is quite a large area with tourist information and cafe.  No petrol though but I believe there is one on this or the next roundabout.

Would agree, A303, Cartgate near Yeovil is the best one for a rest break ( we live not far away) there is fuel going south and north near Cartgate, also at the South Petherton and Ilminster roundabouts. There are several large laybys on the A30 towards Honiton including one with a snack bar.

Using the M5 south of Bristol, Sedgemoor is a good stopping point (Bridgwater is awful, avoid it!) Next stop would be Taunton services. On the A30 south of Exeter there are places to stop around Whiddon Down and Sourton.
