More sharing my experience than a question and it might save someone else a few pounds., so here goes. I've got a rigid roof box for many years but I don't like using it as it look funny on top of a tall car anyway and then its on all the time you are away. It also takes a while to fit. I noticed in Halfords that Thule do a soft box made of waterproof material that clips onto the roof bars to allow you to get it on and off your car easily once on site and folds away to a very compact size. Trouble was it costs about £180. I found two good alternatives in Argos, one for £50 and one for £100. The one for 50 has a MDF base which can get wet, while the £100 Handiholdall has fibre poles in its base. I read all the reviews on Amazon then I got the Handiholdall yesterday and very pleased with it. It takes my awning roof, side panels, and groundsheet (my awning is quite big at 1020mm) and still has some space left. You can get it £20 pounds cheaper at the handiholdall website but it takes longer to arrive through the post.
