We have a 575 which we are really pleased with. Previously we had a Pastiche with a fixed side bed - we love the transverse bed and the layout of the van means we now have defined areas of living/sleeping and end washroom. Very happy with the build quality
and storage space - struggle to fill the cupboards!!

Whichever layout you choose you are going to feel very special indeed.....Like going from Youth Hostelling to 5 Star hotel accommodation.....no more thin unsupportive beds and upholstery , just well made comfortable durable fixtures and fittings.

    Enjoy your Coachman.

I want the 575 but the wife has set her mind on 545, my only concern with the 545 is how stable it would be when towing  with having the alot of weight  on the rear of the van. Tried to explain to wife that if we went for the 575 we could use the storage
under the bed more and the stability of the van would be better.

Personal view, the 545 encloses the front of the caravan making it seem small. Much prefer the 575 layout ( think of buying the VIP 575) and we like that the base of the bed in the 575 has a wood effect that is far better than the plastic base in the equivalent
    Swift van.

The 575 just seems more spacious

That's what I see as well KPH the 575 looks more spacious and also with the benefit of being able to access under the bed from outside the van. So I need to persuade the wife to see what I see. Going to look at both layouts today with the hope of ordering
    one.

We are in Staffordshire as well, have been to Raymond James caravans in Atherstone (Darren there was very helpful, knowledgeable and a caravanneer as well) rather than 'just a salesman'

We are asking for additional cushions in the front seats, with a board  for the one bolster to allow you to sit and look forward instead of backwards into the caravan also for a TV coax socket to be put in the front to give the option of putting a television
on the front locker. All at a price of course but we feel it will give us more options

Another reason we have opted for the 575 is that it had more food preparation area than other layouts we were looking at

I totally agree about the feeling of space and light in the 575. As for towability my husband says it seems easier with this one than the previous Pastiche!! We had an omnivent fitted as an extra - maybe this years model has one as standard. Hope you find
the van that you both like.

Went over to Kimberley caravans at the weekend and looked at coachman again and also the new compass, still prefer the coachman 575 looks like that's the one we will be having. Best deal I got was from spinney/North Staffs caravans hoping to get it sorted
this week. As soon as it's sorted i will post it on here. Thanks to all who have replied.

    Have Gaz

Just replied to you on other thread, I have also visited Spinney in silverdale Darren at Raymond James beat their price (not by much but every little helps )

Raymond James Caravans also give a free night at a caravan site local to them when you collect your new van. They also give 3 year servicing at £150-00 per year ,payable when van serviced. Thought they also have better customer service and certainly were
friendlier and more knowledgable about their product.

Of course how local they each are to you has to have a bearing , for us they were about equal distance from our home.

Worth giving Darren a phone call perhaps ?

    hi

I may be able to help with this. I bought a new VIP575 from Raymond James. Also looked at the 545 but I thought the 545 looked claustrophobic and didnt like the narrow middle section. Actually went to the show in 2014 to buy a 545 I thought.

The 575 has a nice open aspect and we love the layout. Having the large shelf above the fridge opposite the kitchen gives a very useful space and because you can see over it, it helps with the open aspect. Build quality is good and the lighting/heating superb.
Things I would change - i would like to switch less lights on when visiting the bathroom at night, id like a folding shower door so water doesnt drip on the floor, id change the design of the plastic hat deflectors behind the mattress/cushions as they keep
    coming adrift.,

I also took advantage of the service offer which Raymond James completed satisfactorily.

My only issue continues to be that I have three niggly faults and despite these being agreed by Coachman under warranty Raymond James have been useless in ordering the parts. despite numerous chasers. Still waiting after 6 months.

Yes the food prep area above the fridge is one of the reasons we went for the VIP 575 together with the feeling of space.

we have ordered 2 additional bolster cushions for the seating area together with additional boarding for the one bolster in a order that we can sit on the seat by the door and lean on it to look through the front window.

As an aside Sponney also wanted my present van straightaway (even though and April delivery for new van) whereas Raymond James suggested deposit by credit card and confirmed trade in price would be the same as quoted even if drop it Glasses guide price.

Sorry to hear about that you have niggly faults that have not been rectified, can I ask what they are ?

    KPH

Nothing major but irratating mainly due to the inabaility of dealer to rectify despite numerous chasers.

The clips for the pan support on the hob broke on first use. looking at newer vips with the aspire 2 cooker these have been redesigned and look to be better. Ive asked Thetford to send me 4 and they replied straightaway and have posted some to me, so why
cant the dealer get them in 5 months,

the non return valve on the Alde boiler has an intermitent fault that occasional means it lets water passed into the overflow pipe. i guess the non return valve is sticking open occasionally, Im struggling to get a replacement.

Cosmetically the seam tape on the interior wall boards is peeling at the edges. i may have got the end of a roll !

On a postive note however the overall build is very good and it feels solid, there are some very nice touches eg the pan drawers under the sink are very user friendly, its the first caravan ive had, and ive had a few, that i havent had to go round tightening
handles and aligning doors etc. all interior wiring and plumbing is also very tidy.

    hope that helps.

    steve

We looked at 545 and 575 and ended up with a 575 VIP.

I liked the 545 mid washroom idea as it gave good separation of front and bedroom.

Main reason to go 575 was to get anything of size into the underbed storage of the 545 was via the washroom or out the window! - No external hatch access. going thru the washroom no matter how careful damage was going to happen at some point.

Couple small niggles but solved by dealer and delighted with purchase

    KPH

Went to Raymond James on Saturday spoke with Darren and yes slightly beat Spinney price on the coachman. If I could fit the VIP down my drive I would have brought one but we were looking at th pastiche which me and the wife said it looked a bit plain. We
set our hearts on the Elddis Affinity 554 lovely van exactly what we wanted until I got home and read some of the reviews about cracked panels and also one of two having problems with floors. Thinking of starting discussion to see if people are still having
problems with the 2016 affinity panels and floors. So up to now we haven't ordered a van.

...its not just some caravans, some MH (almost exclusively UK ones) dont seem to have any external access at all, meaning that anything being stored inside the van has to be carted through the caravan door....

i dont know the reasoning behind this, does anyone know.

why have storage areas inside the van (under beds etc) yet not be able to get at them from outside...?
