Christmas Day arrival advice

I know its a bit early to ask,  but we are booked into Bridlington starting on xmas day.  Being relatively new to the sport, we were not sure what the procedure will be with ariving on xmas day itself, we certainly don't anticipate wardens working on that
day.  Has anyone else any experience of xmas day arrival?  The app took the booking so we assumed it will be acceptable to arrive then?

Why not ring the warden and ask, Henzy. Then you'll have it from the 'horse's mouth'.

Copied from the booking section - site page information:

If you are due to arrive on Christmas Day or New Year's Day, the site office will be closed. Please contact the Site Staff before arrival to discuss pitching.

Apologies, as mentioned we are very very new to caravanning and this obviously includes being new to the club and the website.  Information now found.

Don't break down. No recovery on Christmas day. And don't forget anything. Laughing Won't be much traffic to worry about though.

We hope to be already settled on a site before Christmas Day. Three days off work for me including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

I think the AA work Christmas day - I am sure my son needed them!  But let's be positive and not frighten anyone.

We would go before if we could, but work precludes that option.  :-(

We travelled to a site last year on Christmas day, The motorway was very quiet, no lorries and other traffic was light.  We had a fantastic time,

Why is it people expect CC to be opened on this day yet wouldn't dream of asking the same question of Tesco.

The OP does not expect wardens to be working. That's why he's asked the question about arrival procedures.

So why ask the question when he knows no one will be there. Boxing day is a normal day and only one day later

    Moderator Edit:

A reasonable question considering that the OP is new to caravanning and isn't familiar with the procedure when the site reception is closed.

I would think the wardens will allocate a pitch, tell him which one and let him get on with it until Boxing day. When booking a ferry pitch you have to phone up in advance pay over the phone for the 1 night and they leave you a note on the notice board,
I would expect something along these lines.

As per my initial post, Philnffc I certainly did not expect wardens to be working on christmas day, hence posing the question to those more knowledgable about carvanning and camping.  In the main I have received useful information and advice and will take
    this on board.

Hi Henzy and welcome trust you get more uesful information from the forum I find it best to ignore certain posters like the one earlier. My motto is dont post a reply unless you have something constructive to say there are people on here who just seem to
like to wind others up. Hope you have a good Xmas break we usualy do we go both xmas and new year.

Thanks jeffcc, I did think my post had made clear my query as well as indicate my level of naivety.  Practorated comments do make one shy away from asking any questions in the future for fear of a backlash, however as I said the majority of people have been
very helpful and constructive in their advice and opinions and we are keen to take on board all such.  Caravaning thus far for us has proved to be nothing but a positive experience and we look forward to many more years of this fabulous hobby.

I wasn't trying to be funny but it is the only day of the year the Wardens get off and people still want to arrive. Yes the wardens wont be working but will still be on site but who do you expect to lift the barrier so you can get on site then??? and i was
being constructive when i said Boxing day

As initially stated, we are new to carvanning and the ins and outs of CC sites, hence posing what I thought was a reasonable request for advice.  Our question has been answered, we have spoken to the warden who is actually going to leave us access with some friends of ours who are arriving on xmas eve, so rest assured, no-ones christmas will be ruined due to our restricted holiday plans which are due to circumstances beyond our control. I hope this puts your mind at ease.
