If waiting times for spares were more realistic there would be less need for loan caravans. I don't think I shall hold my breath for either.

What a wonderful pipe dream Smile As someone who's caravan is currently awaiting repairs after an insurance claim back in July many of my non caravanning
friends have asked me the same question -  "Misty" finally goes in for repairs mid October - 8 weeks after being given the go ahead by the insurers
Don't cry As the assessor said - it's not called the leisure industry for nothing !

Maybe it might be time to get leagal advice on this it is the fault of the manufacturer after all the warrinty woek on my 3 month old caravan will cost me about 100 pound in fuel and not mention the time with not a hint of compensation our range rover had
to go back to the dealer for a mark in the leather we got a loan car and when we picked it up there was a full tank of petrol it had been  cleaned and inside was a bouquet of flowers what a difference

But would you really want to borrow a loan van for an actual holiday? Most people spend a lot of time personalising their vans and are very fussy about layout and cleanliness.

you should be given a choice then its up to you if take a loan caravan or not but i am 100 precent sure if you did take a loan caravan your van would be repaired a lot quicker  at the moment its a one way street and it cant carry on

Can't see that ever happening either. There was once a time and i was 'between caravans' and did actually hire one for a week. Must admit it was clean, functional, did it's job but very cold and impersonal. I like my creature comforts.

I think the time manufacturers take to supply spares makes the idea of a loan caravan financially impossible for either repairers or insurers. It realy needs legislation to cover the timescale for supplying parts but do not hold your breath.
