Is it me or do other people think the large sunroof in lunars looks good but is a bad design you have to be tall to open it it does not open fully only five iches one end and sloping down to nothing

Sounds naff.  One can stand on something to open it, but it needs to go right back to get up to clean roof or look at the sunset!

Quite agree cabbiemick.   It put us off changing our caravan next year, thought the large heki was fine personally.

If it looks like the ones on Baileys, I don't think I would like it.

We don't have either the big window or the rooflight in ours. We just have windows around three sides of the lounge area and a Heki rooflight over it. How much more light does anyone need?

Hard enough keeping it cool in summer, without even more window area......

Personally I think that it is great. It lets in a massive amount of light and, to my mind, much better than the sun roofs fitted on Baileys.

There are actually two heights that you can open it up to. I am 5'7" and don't have any problems raising and lowering it.

As for being hinged at one end, so was the Heki on my Clubman and Quasar.

We did look at it at a show earlier this year. It looks good but the fact it only opens a few inches and that it seemed difficult to operate put us off. It might be easier to operate as you get used to it though.

On our 2016 delta it only as one opening  open or shut you have to push it right open then slowly lower it to the open position do it to quickly and it does not stay open

The one on my ancient Bailey slides almost all the way back - great for roof access, and wish there was a similar one in the bed area (as there was on the Twinstar).

The way we use it is to let light in during early morning when we are up and about but not yet washed and clothed and we have the window blinds closed.

l have it in my Clubman it works perfectly push up slowly to the top and let it down clicks in eveytime same procedure to the second position. the times we have had  the struts on the Heki replaced  due to them failing, how many have jumped out of your skin
when a gust has dropped the Heki down with bang. also left open on a sunny morning only to come back from a walk to find passing cloud dropped its contents. we all have our favourites mines the Lunar version

Works fine for me, no need to use latches on site even in the heaviest rain, its a lot easier to keep clean on the roof itself than a Heki. I did used to find a fully open Heki in hot weather abroad over a bed tended to make sleeping more comfortable.

We have a 2015 Clubman SE, you don't have to be tall to open it. I agree it doesn't open as much as the Heki roof light. I was unsure about it having had the 2011 model with two large Heki roof lights. However, after two very hot summers on holiday in Spain
I can honestly say it doesn't make much difference. We just love the unusual stylish shape and lighting. It really is a lovely feature which looks great compared to the old Heki roof light. Never had a problem opening it or closing it either.
