My daughter will be 17 soon and with her having to travel around 60 miles each day for her 6th form and basketball training, we looking into getting a little car for this purpose, I got quoted for a fiat 500 1.2 model

(The lowest ins level) and under my wife’s name and daughter as a driver, the policy was varying from £1500 to £2800 per year......My daughter alone was £1900 and upwards well past the £2800 and 80% required a box fitted which is a great idea for a driver
that drive’s to work/school at 7-8am and back for 4-6 pm, but they restrict in the miles you can do and times you drive which is no use for what we need,

So tell me how do new drivers afford this, even as parents paying it it’s a shocking price for a named policy?

Has anyone else done this recently? And what was your outcome.
