Air Suspension

Hi, are there any motorhome owners who have air suspension fitted that know what pressure the guage should be showing? We own a 1991 Transit Travelhome that has air suspension fitted (after market I think) and the guage is reading 28 psi (2 bar). I have
been told this is about right. The reason for asking is that on our last trip we encountered a strange problem, when travelling at approx 50-55 mph and hitting a rough patch of tarmac on the A2 in Kent and also on the M11 the van started to jump, a bit like
a kangaroo hop. Just wondered if this could be the suspension? Any ideas would be welcome.
