Heating for asthma suffers in vans

We are just about to buy a new van, our first. So after many months considering different manufactures, models we are there – but only cos we changed our mind again this weekend! Time to give up looking I think.

The only query we still have is over heating systems – blowair or wet central heating.

My wife suffers from mild asthma so we are concerned about the blowair type of heating primarily cos once it’s a few years old and has some dust built up in the ducting, then when its switched on the air quality has the potential to be poor. Are there any
asthma suffers on here that’s able to say whether the blowair heating affects them?  Failing that has anyone noticed poorer air quality when the heating is on?

I know if we are on a serviced site we could take a small fan heater with us, but that wont always be possible.

Generally we will be using the van between Easter and say end September, so was also keen to know how often people use there heating between those timescales? Do you use it so little, that we are worrying unnecessarily?

For those with wet heating, what do you do though the winter months if you store your caravan, do you drain it in case it freezes up? Is there an easily accessible drain off valve?

Sorry for the questions but once we cracked this we are ready to place the order. It would be nice to have the wet system, but its several thousand pounds more on the price. So don’t want to pay that if its unlikely to be an issue, but by the a same turn
if we get blowair and causes breathing problems that will be even worse.

Many thanks in advance for your help.
