We used to take our caravan to Morecambe Butlins years ago when the kids were little, all the entertainment you wanted & for little money you could pay for a meal ticket inthe canteen. Unfortunately they shut it .... it used to be good for a few days away
at mid-term etc0 -
We stayed at the Skegness Butlins site last year for the Spring Harvest event. It was OK! and ideal if you want to enjoy all the Butlins facilites. I don't think Minehead take caravans.

The CC site at Pontins was a good spot for a few days with the children. Plenty for them to do all day and our accomodation looked far better than the site cabins.
My parents had a static on the next door caravan park (not Ocean Edge) and I spent most of the weekends and school holidays there as a kid.
I used to blag my way into Pontins Middleton Sands to play regularly.

I thought that the touring park at Minehead had closed down.
