Hi all. Like me, did you just take the dealers word for it when you picked up your MH? (The tyre pressure that is). I've been doing a lot of research on the net about this subject and it seems to me that a lot of us motorhomers are getting it very wrong! The dealer we bought Max from showed me the sticker inside the passanger door........."5.5 bar is what you inflate to" they said at hand-over. Yes, if you are driving a blinkin Fiat van! You can also ignore what it say's (to an extent) on the tyre wall. The tyre pressure depends on 2 things - 1/. tyre size, 2/. axel weight. I have been in contact with Continental Tyres, they have emailed me a chart of tyre pressure that depend on the 2 different axel weights. The "only" way to get your tyre pressure correct is to go to a Public Weigh bridge (loaded as you would be to go off on your travels) and get the 2 weights. I am going to do this this afternoon, I will report back later. When the pressures are correct the ride should be smoother and even fuel consumption should be less. Cheers, Gary
