Hello All

I have been touring for over 20 years. Now I stick mainly to touring the beautiful areas the North of Scotland has to offer as well as the Islands off the West Coast. However I do confess to enjoying the use of the Televsion in my caravan. I am now looking
to purchase a satellite system that is very easy and quick to set up (signal not great up North) and does not require any additons to the caravan body which require drilling or srewing etc. Can I ask you to offer any information as to what would be the best
purchase. Thanks Alistair

Coincidentally, I have just posted something elsewhere on this subject!  I have just bought the Avtex 24DRS TV and the Easyfind Flat satellite dish.  The Avtex DRS TV comes with Easyfind software installed plus all the other bells and whistles standard on these televisions.  I only got it a couple of days ago and therefore have only tried it at home.  Picture quality is stunning - HD decoder for both terrestrial and satellite and it took 2 minutes or less to find the satellite using Easyfind.  Satellite system is just under £200 which I know is expensive for a dish, but the Easyfind is well worth paying that extra for, in my opinion.

Comes complete with tripod and cable etc and comes in a hard suitcase for transportation.  No drilling or modification of the van required at all but an external satellite connection (which we have) is a bonus - otherwise just pass lead through a window and direct to the set.

The Easyfind dishes seem to be in short supply at the moment but a search on Google should identify a supplier - but if you decide to go down this route - check they actually have them in stock before ordering. (I was caught out by one company).

PS - went down Avtex route after a bad experience with a cut-price system from a well-known supermarket chain

I'm in a similar position to Alistair. I don't want to have one installed, cost is an issue. I saw one of these at the NEC in February. Anybody got any thoughts on it
    QuickSAT QS65?

    Thanks

DW - I also considered this and having watched the video on U-tube, it looks easy to set up.  However, given the superb picture on the Avtex TV, I was pleased I went down that route, and got the integrated Easyfind technology which allows the use of the
Easyfind Flat satellite dish. Based on my very limited experience, my inclination would be to put the extra £100 towards the AvtexTV and go down the Easyfind route.
