AWNING SAFTEY DEVICE

isabella, safe lock awning safety device, has anyone got instructions on the correct way to use these as they dont come with instructions when you purchase them. we have a magnum and thought they would crimp the canvas at both ends in the awning rail but
dont seem to be able to get just right. as we go to some very remote wild parts of scotland we have purchased just about every tie down kit available, tried to find on web but nothing, help,  please.
