Car warrenty if a tow bar is fitted.

I have just purchased a new Volvo that has all singing and dancing electronics. As I have to get a tow bar fitted I have given the Volvo main dealer the order rather thsan an independant tow bar fitter.

The reason is that If the cars electrics failed for any reason Volvo may state that the non dealer fitted tow bar caused the problem and therefore the warrenty is invalid.

Do you agree that I have made the correct decision?
