Cleaning GRP

Having just got back from 10 days away (Notts/Liverpool/Derbyshire), the van was filthy and I want to put some sparkle back into it.  I'm a bit dubious of polishing the front GRP panel and wonder what other members use?

And....how do you apply, buffing machine or hand?  Too big an investment to make a mess of it.
