Info on a Discovery series 3

The LR disco has been a popular towing vehicle for as long as I can remember.  Having returned from France a few week ago and after talking with Disco 3 owners we have decided to ask club members for their thoughts before splashing the cash. I see from the
internet that a low milage version series 3 can be had for around £15K.  If anyone can help us out with information on:-

Fuel consumption towing 1470kg

Reliabilty - suspension, engine management sytem.

Overall performance - flat spot at low revs

Inside the car - layout etc.

we would be very grateful.
