Smoke Detectors

Hi all, our smoke detector has bitten the dust, it won't work and I would like to replace with a 10 year sealed one as recommended by the fire brigade, is this suitable for caravan use? Also is it optical or heat sensor I would need? Sorry if these are silly
questions but I thought it would pbe straightforward and it isn't! Thanks, Anna Aspinall.
