Hi All,  I have recently picked up my first caravan, 2003 Swift Charimsa 565, and I was wondering why there is no silicone sealant between the worktops and sink / walls.  I would have thought that would be a no brainer,  what do you think? should I seal
it?

It might of had the top removed at some point. For piece of mind, a thin application will prevent any water from going behind the unit and causing damp.

That was one of the first things I did in my van, put clear sealant arround the sink and hand basin to stop water getting under the edges and into the wood. Sometimes the surfaces can get very wet.  Yes, IMO you are thinking right. I even did round the fridge because of draughts, if it needs to come out, a Stanley knife simply cuts through it.

There was no caulk between work surfaces and walls etc on the 2007 Abbey Vogue I used to own. I did the whole lot with clear silicon myself, plus I replaced all the white around the shower as well. A job well worth doing just in case you have an accidental
spillage, stops any liquid running down the walls.
