Rallies why?

I must admit the idea of parking up in a field with no facilities with a number of other families and being asked/expected to "join in" fills me and Mrs Brummie with horror. We go away to do our own thing when we like how we like. A caravan to us is just a means to an end . It enables us to get away when and where we like with no constraints as to when we eat or  whether our dog can come with us' It is not a reason to go away it is just a tool to enable us to get away .
