Just wondering if anyone else as had the same problem?

Any recomendations for different tracker?

This happened to the Tracker on our Swift caravan a couple of years ago. The Tracker was about 18 months old. They just sent someone out to renew the unit, no charge to us. I think it's good when they let you know the signal is weak or they're not receiving
    one at all.

Not renewed mine when l found out the extra insurance l had to pay was half the trackers yearly fee plus l dont think l would want the caravan back that had been stolen. Not saying thay arn't any use far from it but the cost is to great for what you get
    back off the insurance companies

I wonder what would have happened if the van had been stolen.  Would the signal have been good enough?

Many / most of the tracking companies (including Back to You) use GPS technology.  This is fine unless the van is in/under a steel structure (such as a ship or a freight container Surprised  or underground in a car park)  Tracker uses a somewhat different method (VHF) that it claims is proof against that http://www.tracker.co.uk/for-your-vehicle/how-tracker-works/

That aside, I'm with Heethers, not sure I'd want it back anyway Frown

We have a Tracker on our new Swift Challenger. We got a phone call saying our Tracker had a poor signal and they need to look at it. I thought this could be anyone coming to mess with it. I thought it's a bit strange so I rang Tracker and they said it was genuin. When the guy came he was not from Tracker it was an outside firm but he used to work for the. I asked how do you know where it is fitted as I understand only Swift and Tracker know where it's fitted he said he did not know I will just fit a new one. He said he has 3000 to fit it would take him about 6 months that's cost Tracker a lot of money

Just one other thing You can subscribe  yearly or 5 years I have been told you can't do longer than 5 years because they only last 5 years. If you wish to keep covered you will have to buy a new one seems a bit strange. Has anyone else heard that.

Slightly off course but there are press reports of a caravan being recovered after it was being towed away. The report covered the exuse of the person towing it who said he was helping a man in a pub who offered him £100 to fetch it for him and he did not
    realise he was stealing it!
