Received a note from my storeage company informing me that my Caravan had been damaged in recent storms [big hailstones] One side of the "van" has a couple of dozen small dents caused by the storm [dotted around the side panel] Has any one experienced this?
and repaired such damage? Can it be repaired?>Insurance? or do I just live with the damage.?Any comment gratefully received.

Cheetahdavie sorry to hear about your trouble.

We had multiple dents caused by awning poles banging caused by the wind we claimed on our insurance as new awning rail was to be fitted and took it to Panel Works down in Bawtry (Yorkshire Caravans) and they did a superb job.

The new Great Yorkshire Way makes getting there even easier.

The dents should not affect your use of the caravan but they may look unsightley. When you sel it they will affect the value but I cannot say if it justifies the cost of a claim. I would find out the cost of repair and the likely drop in value when you sell.

We suffered some hailstone dents to the roof when in France a couple of years ago. We just live with it. The trouble is if they start pulling your van about you never can be sure it will be as good. Especially if you've had no issues with it so far.

My van suffered hail stone damage some years ago, i contacted the insurance company to check what would happen if the vans value was reduced when trading in .They said they would compensate for loss in that case. The c/van was insured with the CC , however
no mention was made when i traded it in . Maybe worth speaking to your insurer.
