Volvo S40 2.0T as a tow car

Hello,

My wife and I have just taken the plunge on returning to caravanning after about ten years.

We have put a deposit down on a Bailey Pageant Bordeaux S6 (2008 model).

The MRO is 1103Kg and the MTPLM is 1300Kg.

Our car is a 2001 Volvo S40 2.0T.

I have checked on the website towcar.info and it gives some contradictory seeming information - suggesting the weight ratio is 95% (too high?) but then describing the stability and safety index as satisfactory.

 

Any advice or comment would be greatly appreciated.
