I am considering getting an Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) within the next 12 months and wondered if anyone has an experience of this new concept car.

The car is a 4x4 powered by 2 large batteries and a 2 litre petrol engine. The petrol engine comes in when the electricals are getting under strain or performance is needed.

It has no alternator as is currently defined but the petrol engine can kick in with charge.

My worries about this are with the electrics as the current for the fridge, van power and lighting cannot be taken from the small "computer" battery

 I tow a 1500kg Hobby 540uFE

Has anyone any experience of rthe PHEV thay would like to share?
