Pitch fees

I was asked the other day why the club charges per adult and child and then a pitch fee, to which i didn't have the answer, they then asked why can there not be a standard pitch fee and why you have to pay for an awning when you have paid for your pitch
again i didn't have an answer so i was wondering if anyone could enlighten me.

Me i just pay what it says on the can and get on with it never ever thought about it
