Various coloured pitch pegs

Does anyone else feel confused by the introduction of coloured pegs.  We now have White, Blue, Red and Black.  I thought I understood that due to health and afety there has to be a certain distance between awnings/canopies, but have recently been on two
sites - one Motorhome drew on facing the hedge and pulled out his canopy, which left a disance of approx. 8 foot away from our porch.  Another site had two awnings facing each other with only the grass verge between them.  Does anyone else find this confusing.
