Hi

I am considering a Volvo XC60 as a tow car for my 1600 MPTLW caravan. I would be pleased to hear of anyones experience or thoughts on this car as atow car.

Thanks

Dave

Brilliant tow car - I have a Volvo XC60 D5 Auto as a tow car for my 1550 MPTLW caravan.  No problems at all. If you can get one with the Volvo reversing camera fitted, when a metre away from the tow hitch, it zooms in automatically and you can see to hook
    up very clearly.

I also have a 1600 MPTLW caravan with the Volvo xc60 D5 auto. As others have said, it makes a great tow car.  Being a newbie to caravaning I wanted something that wasn't "just able to tow", but could tow comfortably.  Even fully laden you hardly know that
the van is behind you, accelerates easily and sticks to the road like glue around bends.  No probes with wet grass on site.  Around 30mpg when towing and into the 40's solo. haven't needed the anti snaking feature yet, but nice to know it is there if needed.
Looking forward to touring abroad next year so the auto right hand drive headlight change facility will be handy. Only slight criticism is lack of storage "cubby holes" , for glasses, gloves and other general junk, maybe I was spoiled in previous cars.  Enjoy.

I tow a 1450kg van with a D5 XC60 and it has no problems at all.

I have a 2014 XC60 D5 auto with a 1550kg caravan.  It tows very well.  I sit at 63mph on the motorway with cruise control on and after a while I need to remind myself I'm towing.

I'm interested in why you "sit at 63mph" whilst the limit is 60mph

Probably the same reason the majority of the motorway does 75/80

I can heartily recommend the XC60 as a towcar. We are away at the moment with our Swift Challenger SE 565 in tow and I can honestly say towing is easy. I also have the Polestar performance upgrade on the D5 and the outfit makes light work of anything we
want to do, even here is Scotland with challenging hills and this weekend's winds and rain. This is my fourth XC60 and all of them have been good for towing.
