Mondeo 140 or 163?

Hi 

Looking to purchase a newish (2012) Mondeo .I have a choice of engines, either the 140PS or the 163PS.The torque figures are 320/340 Nm respectively.

At first glance, the 163 PS engine with greater power and torque would seem to be the better buy but is it as simple as that. I have been reading a few forums and some say they the 140 achieves the max torque sooner but others disagree.I would welcome your
views.
