advice for solar panels

I have just spent my very first weekend on a CL type site without electric, toilets or showers. Cost was £9 per night. Water and black water disposal supplied. It was clear that many people who were on site were regular users of this type of site and had
with them solar panels to charge the battery. I am considering using these sites more often but I am totally confused over what solar panel size etc I would require to keep my battery topped up so I can use a 12volt television, lights etc. Any advice anyone.
