 "The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our life time" These words were reported to have been spoken by Sir Edward Grey, Foreign Secretary on the eve of the outbreak of The Great War 1914-1918 . 

Tomorrow, Monday Aug 4th the Royal British Legion will be commemorating the 100th anniversary of WW1. They are inviting everyone to participate by turning off their lights between 10 and 11pm and leaving a single candle or light in remembrance.
