Anyone any experience or views on the Lunar Landstar withe the engine upgrade and auto box, I am looking at a used version with low miles.

How good is the conversion, I doubt the Merc will be a issue,.

We have engine upgrade and auto box in an Auto Sleeper. I can't speak for the Lunar bit but the Sprinter is first class.

Tinwheeler, thanks I'm off to have a look at it tomorrow, whats you MPG like? Do I assume you have the 165hp engine with 7 speed auto?

Hope it's what you want, David.

Ours is a little older. It's 2011, a Euro 5, 160ish BHP (can't recall the exact figure), 5 speed auto. The MH is 3500kg but coachbuilt which is boxier than the PVC you're contemplating. We don't drive it for economy preferring to make good time up the m/way
at 70mph. Depending on road conditions etc, we get 25-30mpg which, after towing with a Shogun at 16mpg, is brilliant. We live in a hilly area but, in your part of the country, I would expect to exceed 30mpg.

Thanks, thats about what I was expecting I tow with a Land Cruiser and struggle to get 18mpg.

We are trying to get round the cooast and the next leg is into Scotland up the East coast over the top and down the West coast

That's very similar circumstances, David. I reckon you'll be well pleased with the mpg.

We did that same Scottish trip - up the east coast, across the top via Dunnet, Altnaharra and Durness. Then down the west via Scourie and Ardmair. Our MH is 6.4m and a bit wider than the PVC but we had no trouble at all on the single track roads.
